Welcome in Spring 2008 with a cacophony of noise and music. On March 15 and 16 Sally Can’t Dance brings together some of China’s most challenging and innovative performers, widely admired both at home and abroad, for a two-day festival dedicated to the burgeoning noise, experimental and improvised music scene in China. Conceived as the first of a series of annual events that will highlight the contribution of China-based artists to the world of new music, the festival kicks off this year at Beijing’s renown D22, before going on to other venues in Beijing and around China over the next several years.
From the anarchist ravings of Mafeisan and Torturing Nurse to the visionary compositions of Yan Jun, Xiao He and Shouwang to the improvisational wizardry of Li Tieqiao and the Diversionary Manoeuvre Trio, the festival will feature the current and future legends of China’s avant garde music scene. Including performers from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Dali, and Hong Kong, as well as American and German performers residing in China and Chinese performers based in Norway and Sweden, Sally Can’t Dance will showcase the full range of China’s new music scene.

URBAN NOMAD is a festival for underground and alternative film founded in 2002 in Taipei, running annually in various converted warehouse spaces, former train yards, universities, under highway bridges and most recently at international art fairs. The fest aims to break down the impersonal ‘black box’ theatre mentality, where hundreds of people watch films without even a friendly hello. Urban Nomad brings their provocative programming to Hong Kong with a feature-night screening + talk at the old Imperial Cinema in Wanchai.

"Cinema," says philosopher Slavoj Zizek, "is the ultimate pervert art. It doesn’t give you what you desire - it tells you how to desire." But if we are to live our lives in a media environment, which now seems inevitable, how do we take back our desires? For this event, Taipei’s Urban Nomad Film Fest, working with HK’s hometown crews of Microwave and Videotage, brings together a package of indie shorts from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines plus two international features.
The shorts come from emerging categories — underground, DIY, DVD magazines, activist films, video art, skate/surf flicks - that show how film can be a medium for communication and community rather than just entertainment and telling us how to look cool. Saturday’s main feature, Crossing the Line, provides a first ever look at the life of an American GI who defected to North Korea in the 1960s and amazingly found happiness there. Filmmaker Nick Bonner will be coming in from Beijing for a talk and gathering following the screening. The Sunday program, Pervert’s Guide to Cinema starring rock star philosopher Zizek, is a reassessment of mainstream cinema history (and also an indie film!) that looks at where film has been over the last 100 years and why we might just be ready for something new.

由White Noise聯合深圳獨立音樂廠牌We Play!推出的We Play White Noise音樂會是為ChoP vol.2<8 Rooms>的出版而舉辦。ChoP是一個介於中國與波蘭之間的音樂專案，由中國深圳的電子音樂家Zen Lu與波蘭實驗音樂家Grzegorz Bojanek共同發起，主要以網路傳輸的方式相互傳遞素材進行主題創作，體現出兩種不同文化背景、不同社會形態下兩國前衛音樂家對於實驗音樂、聲音藝術 等領域的探索與碰撞，在ChoP的每一個系列唱片中我們均邀請一名中國音樂家和一名波蘭音樂家共同創作完成。ChoP vol.1<over a foul line,simple questions>由Zen Lu與Grzegorz Bojanek共同創作並於2007年3月出版；ChoP vol.2<8 Rooms>由香港實驗音樂家Dickson Dee和波蘭電子音樂家Tomasz Pauszek(RND)共同完成。我們已經邀請香港聲音藝術家Sin:Ned和波蘭電子樂手Minoo加入ChoP vol.3的創作，作品計畫於今年5月份出版。這次演出，主辦方特別邀請了來自深圳的實驗音樂人劉淳作為客席樂手，劉淳早年間在眾多樂隊中擔任吉他和人 聲，英國留學歸來之後投入實驗音樂創作，是一位值得期待的實驗音樂新銳.

Santiago Latorre 是一位音乐家同时他也是位声音工程师，目前工作和居住在西班牙的巴塞隆讷。
从他11岁时开始玩萨克斯风，几年后进入大学主修电子工程。这两个领域的融合使Santiago发展了 “人类基因的声音”（Sonification Of The Human Genome）, 展开了他对实验音乐和新声音的着迷。
也身为舞蹈，剧场，时尚走秀和影相艺术编曲者。在这里值得提到的有舞台剧如Radio-Patera或la Sndrome d’Ulysses （巴塞隆那,2005），和Ivonne Dipmann合作的艺术录象作品 FÜNF （MID-E,圣塞巴斯提安,2004），On the terrace （巴塞隆那,2005），
Sobrevive（柏林,2006）以及一个名叫PIEL的现代舞码，但目前还在筹备中。
在05年他开始在巴塞隆那的一些音乐节和音乐酒吧做专场演出（如LEM07，Heliogabal，Miscelanea，Comuna del‘art，Sodabeat05等等）。 同时他成为在西班牙国内主要的录音室Grabaciones Silvestres旗下的工程师。 在那里他完成了他的第一张还尚未发行的专集Órbita（译：盘旋）。
Órbita是关于旋转和进化，永远在同个旅程中但不段的在改变，变老了，慢了而死去。就像一个绕着太阳的星球，在每个轨道上回到同一个地方好几次。但每一次，发生了一些事，一年过去了。
